In 2006, a compassionate and dedicated group of McKinney residents came together and asked a simple question: “How can we, working together, help the children of McKinney?” Convinced in the power of believing and a willingness to serve, Believe! was born.

    This year we celebrate the 6th annual event of Believe! The 10K/5K and 1 mile holiday run/walk through historic downtown McKinney has become a wonderful tradition. We are thrilled to announce that McKinney Rotary will once again be our Presenting Sponsors!

    To make this event possible we have worked closely over the years with community groups, including the City of McKinney, Main Street McKinney, and the downtown merchants. Held during the annual McKinney “Dickens of a Christmas”, the event has not only raised needed funds, but helped to show case downtown McKinney by bringing in runners from all over North Texas. We have enjoyed remarkable success. Last year Believe! had over 1,200 + participants, 150 + volunteers. In just 5 short years we have been able to donate $55,000 to local pre-school scholarship funds in Collin County. We anticipate another bigger and better exciting run this November during Dickens of a Christmas.

    We are also proud to again host the Pair to Care initiative, where we provide new pairs of athletic shoes for McKinney’s Independent School District children.

    Our long term vision? To grow the parent foundation “Dandelion Wishes”, and enhance the lives of more children! With a committed team, and generous donors, nothing is impossible! Today, we are looking for sponsors who Believe! in our children, community, and the need to raise scholarships for the young minds of our future.
