Thank you for your support of Believe! It was another record-setting year for us, which would not have been possible without the support of our sponsors, volunteers, and runners. To everyone who gave, helped, ran or walked – thank you!
It is a good time to be thankful. Thankful for all the many ways that God has blessed us – with family, friends and a generous community. Thankful for living in a land where we are free to succeed, to be at peace and to worship. I am particularly thankful to God for the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of the children of McKinney. Your support of Believe! has done just that – you have helped a child go to a nurturing, quality pre-school. One child at a time, we are making a difference.
As you may know, the proceeds from Believe! go to Holy Family School’s scholarship fund, a school in east McKinney that has been generously helping children in our community for over seven decades. As the school’s chaplain, I’ve seen firsthand the impact our scholarships have made. Graduates of Holy Family’s program are ready to succeed in Kindergarten, and have both the academic and social readiness to take the next step. Since the children we are helping are at risk, the impact that our scholarships are having on the children and their families simply cannot be measured.
If you are looking for a friendly and community-service oriented church to attend this Christmas season, I’d like to invite you to St. Andrew’s! Our church worships at the McKinney Family YMCA, 300 Ridge Road, at 10:15 a.m. each Sunday. Our Christmas Eve services will be at 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. For more information, visit our website at www.standrewsonline.net.
